The Devils Arithmetic

This is a very good book. I find it very interesting. Of course I also find it depressing as it deals with the holocaust. No before you ask I am not Jewish I just really like things dealing with this time period. It gives me a sense of what real hardships are.
In this story Hannah is tired of holiday gatherings because all her family ever talks about is the past. In fact, it seems to her that's what they do every Jewish Holiday. But this years Passover Seder will be different. Hannah will be Mysteriously transported into the past and only she knows the unspeakable horrors that await.
Through the course of the story not only does she discover something about her Jewish heritage but something about herself and family.
I highly recommend this book.
